Bra is a town nestled in the hills of the Roero and the Langhe in the province of Cuneo in southern Piedmont. In the 1980’s it became the birthplace of the Slow Food Movement. Bra is also home to "Cheese," a biennial international festival organised by Slow Food which features the makers of artisanal cheeses from across the world. In 1997 the event attracted some 150,000 visitors. The town is one of the most important centers of Piedmontese Baroque style architecture and has many examples that still stand today such as the St. Andrew’s Church and the Church of Santa Chiara, as well as the Town Hall, the Palazzo Garrone, and Palazzo Mathis.
