In ancient Egypt, kitchens were an essential part of daily life. While they didn't have a built-in outdoor kegerator, they did have a method of keeping their beverages cool. Egyptians used clay pots called 'zeer pots' to store and cool their drinks. These pots were made of porous clay and were filled with water. As the water evaporated, it created a cooling effect, keeping the beverages inside the pot cool and refreshing.
