On your second day, venture out of Jinli Ancient Street to explore some of the nearby attractions. Start your day by visiting the Wuhou Memorial Temple, which is dedicated to Zhuge Liang, a famous military strategist from the Three Kingdoms period. The temple complex is filled with beautiful gardens, ancient statues, and historical artifacts. Afterward, head to the nearby Du Fu Thatched Cottage, a museum dedicated to the famous Tang Dynasty poet, Du Fu. Explore the tranquil gardens, visit the exhibition halls, and learn about the life and works of this renowned poet. In the afternoon, take a short trip to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you can observe these adorable creatures in their natural habitat. Spend some time learning about panda conservation efforts and even have the opportunity to hold a baby panda (reservation required).
