Topkapi Palace is a large museum in Istanbul, Turkey. It was the primary residence of the Ottoman sultans for approximately 400 years of their 624-year reign. The palace complex consists of four main courtyards and many smaller buildings. It contains important holy relics of the Muslim world, including Muhammed's cloak and sword. The palace was converted into a museum in 1924 and is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Istanbul.
